Merit Travel is an independent travel agency based in North Wales and specialising in arranging tailor-made holidays worldwide.
Qualifications and Training
The principals are Tim Morland, who is a Fellow of the Institute of Travel and Tourism, who has been a travel agent since 1958, and Merlene Longmate, an Associate Member of the Institute of Travel and Tourism, a travel agent since 1972.
We are committed to an ongoing and extensive training programme and we are accredited by the Visit USA Association, The East Asia Travel Association and the Australian Tourist Commission.
Both Tim and Merlene are U.S.A. Travel Counsellors and Tim is one of the original pioneer members of the Association.
The agency has an enviable level of knowledge of travel to the United States and Canada and we have a particular interest in the Visit U.S.A. West Region, the Midwest and Eastern States. We can call upon all the information available to the Visit U.S.A. Association.
In 1995, in response to the ever-increasing interest in holidays and travel,to Australia, Merit Travel successfully completed the Aussie Specialist training programme and we are now experiencing a high level of demand and an increase in both repeat business and bookings from new clients who have been referred to us by our customers.
Merit Travel became an officially registered members of the East Asia Travel Association in 1996 after completing training for Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, The Philippines, South Korea and Japan. Many of these destinations are popular with clients who travel to Australia and have stopovers en route.
Closer to Home
Many of our regular clients entrust the arrangement of their European, Mediterranean, Canary Islands and Middle East holidays to Merit Travel, either as traditional packages or tailor-made arrangements.
